We've got multiple instances where if you walk up to a machine and look at about this Mac it will say (e.g)
Macbook Pro (Retina, 15-Inch, Mid 2014)
however if i check the same machine in the jSS I see a completely different date
15-inch Retina MacBook Pro (Late 2013)
So, where is the discrepancy? Can it be fixed? It makes planning for hardware refreshes difficult !!!
The JSS is lying. But, its partially Apple's fault that it does. See this thread for a more complete explanation of the issue. Also look here for an EA that can help get the correct name until a more proper solution is created.
I do wish JAMF would come up with a better way of pulling the full computer model information.
