Today we released Jamf Connect 3.5.0; this release addresses the following product issues:

  • [PI143260] Fixed: Importing a configuration profile into Jamf Connect Configuration with the User Promotion Choices (UserPromotionChoices) setting in use causes the array for the setting to be replaced by the following text: (.
  • [PI143263, PI144134] Fixed: Jamf Connect presents the following one-time prompt on computers with macOS Tahoe 26.1 beta, both on the login window and on the desktop: Self Service+ wants to use your confidential information stored in "Jamf Connect" in your keychain.

Will this effect users who are on older versions of Jamf Connect once we upgrade to 3.5

@Shahbaz Is there one of the issues you are asking about in particular? Generally speaking, 3.5.0 is required for the above fixes and features.

We rolled out Jamf earlier this year and haven’t updated the package for Connect. The current version we have rolled out is 2.45.1.

If we update connect to 3.5 for all devices will it break any devices during the upgrade from 2.45.1 to 3.5?

Again we are a new organization to Jamf.

Thanks for the help!

Hi,

I’m experiencing the same issue. I’m also running Jamf Connect 2.45.1 and tried to update it to fix the problem of the prompt appearing all the time. I’ve attempted the update both via Policy and manually, but the same thing happens, two versions of Jamf Connect remain installed, and version 3.5.0 requires manual configuration.

I’ve been told that you have to deploy Self Service +, to fully manage the new Jamf Connect, which is why that is what I have been doing with my testing of Jamf Connect 3.5. with Self Service  +, as it takes over most of the UI from Jamf Connect, such as account syncing and password reset are now done in Self Service +

Patch management in the Jamf server shows 3.5 was released in July and 3.11 was released yesterday, November 10. I can’t find anything newer than 3.5 in my Jamf account. We are current on our billing. Where are the newer versions?

Hello czarmark,

We need to manually install the latest version of Jamf Connect. There is no option available to upgrade to the latest versions in the Jamf account

We should download the Jamf Connect latest version from your Jamf account add-ons and push the Package manually.

Please read posts carefully before replying. Why does my Jamf account show the latest version of Jamf Connect to be 3.5.0 but my Jamf server shows it to be 3.11.0?

Hey @czarmark - With the release of 3.0, Jamf Connect Login and Menubar are no longer packaged together and have different versions / releases. What you are seeing in Jamf Account is the Jamf Connect Login standalone package that also contains the Configuration app and is version 3.5.0. The menubar app is a different version (3.11) and is what you see in the Patch Management screenshot you provided. Since the release of 3.0, Menubar is built into Self Service Plus. That means when you install Service Plus you will also see the new version of menubar. There is also a Patch Management tile just for Jamf Connect Login if you’d like to track what version is installed on machines as well. I hope this helps clarify!
