I'm trying to use the ESD as part of my system build. And though my install seemed to go off without a hitch the first time out - after I'd made some tweaks, I realized that I'd need to do a new build.

At which point the install of the ESD took all of 3 minutes - much faster than the 20 or so minutes that I'd expected.

Turns out, I was a victim of the great Package Apocalypse of 2012. See Greg Neagle's post at the following link: http://managingosx.wordpress.com/2012/03/24/package-apocalypse/

I'm about to run the ESD through the python script that Greg supplied at: http://managingosx.wordpress.com/2012/03/24/fixing-packages-with-expired-signatures/

Will post again if this resolves my issue!

This is what I found on 10.7.3 image from a couple weeks ago:

checkPackageSignatures.py ./InstallESD.dmg:
Package "RemoteDesktop.pkg":
Status: signed by a certificate that has since expired
Package "SIUResources.pkg":
Status: signed by a certificate that has since expired

Hmmmmm, Silly, I hadn't thought about the ESD.dmg and combo updater that I use for base images...

Will a new download of the 10.7.3 installer be safe at this point, I'd think so anyway...
