AirDrop: custom computer name?

Does anyone know how to customize the computer name used in AirDrop without renaming the computer itself? Our corporate naming convention isn't well liked AirDrop user. When users rename their Mac to something AirDrop friendly, AD binding breaks.

I'm hoping to find a happy medium.
