Alternative to 'killall Dock'

Hi all,

I am looking for a way to visually refresh the Dock without resorting to this command:

killall Dock

Reason being, the black Desktop that appears before the Dock comes back is sometimes jarring for end users.

    You could warn them with a Jamf Helper blurb?

      When using the killall Dock command do you just set that up alone in scripts?

      i believe if you use dockutil to refresh the dock, you'll see the dock disappear and reappear rather gracefully - the black flicker screen has been eliminated and the most the end users sees is the dock disappear into the edge of the window and reappear.
