Hi all,

I've heard during a CCA course that in Europe we have to enable also Akamai ip addresses to receive Apple Push Notifications and so there will be no more errors. I cannot find the Akamai ip addresses ranges to use...
Could somebody help me? Many thanks
regards

Hi Joe,

i did some research. Akamai IP ranges are always a pain to check.

But you should be able to get started with this page: http://www.base64online.com/ip_address_range.php?descr=Akamai%20Technologies

A full list is here, but seems that is a bit too much to add in your firewall. http://tools.tracemyip.org/search--isp/akamai+technologies

BTW: Congrats on passing CCA

I may be wrong, but apple don't use Akamai for APNs
I think it uses it for connectivity check when you connect to Wi-Fi (to check if there's a portal or if internet really works). I'm not too knowledgeable on this matter as I believe it's not public.

Maybe @jnichols knows.

@ftiff Sadly they do. Whitelisting the 17.x address range alone isn't enough. I've seen enough network traffic hitting random bits of akamai to either whitelist all of akamai where possible or just open up the entire port. Ick.
