Apps don't show in Self Service; Don't install on Pre-stage Enrollment either

It's really as simple as the title says. We completed our Jump Start yesterday. We couldn't complete our first demo no-touch install because our distribution point was on a different section of our network (we hadn't opened the JSS to the web at large for time reasons).

Today we got back and connected the machine in question to a valid subnet of our network and the only app that installs after completing pre-stage enrollment is Self Service. No apps appear in self service either, despite some policies stating they should be there.

Any ideas as to what's going on here?

Can you check to see if you have scoped the app to a site?
I think you may need to set your VPP entry in the JSS to match.

Things not appearing in Self Service are usually one of these:

  • The app isn't scoped to the device
  • In the case of policies, it's set to run once per computer and there is a log entry stating it has already run
  • You have different sites setup and the device is in the wrong one
  • The app is scoped to a user or group and the user hasn't logged in to Self Service

Hope this helps!

A support WebEx resolved this - we didn't have User Initiated Enrollment turned on and didn't have a JSS management account for the enrollment. Turning these on made everything show up immediately!
