automating 802.1x profile creation under 10.5

do any of you have an automated method to create or import 802.1x login profiles (or any profile, for that matter) under 10.5?

this works perfectly for my purposes under 10.6: http://tinyurl.com/2cj7z7c

this runs as a postflight in a pkg that drops the cert on disk first. no fuss, no muss…

i'd love to use something similar for 10.5 clients. i've come across some older efforts to do this, including this: http://code.google.com/p/macenterprise8021x

I think you may have switched jobs since you asked this but currently my wifiutil.py does support 10.5 profile creation if your still looking.
