I keep getting this issues. I'm running Lion as OS. All my computer have the computer name syntax "Computer 1" .

Error: The binding was not successful:
Illegal character ' ' in Computer ID, configuration cancelled.
dsconfigldap verbose mode
Using suggested computer ID <icow 12>

Most directory services don't like spaces in computer names.
