Is any one else seeing reports of the content filter being a little too resctriveive. We have heard that it blocks the term girl, IE it was blocking a school website because it says girls basketball. I had one student that was doing a report on the homeless and it was blocking out sites because it says homeless.

Apple's iOS content filter is indeed far too restrictive, and not a proper replacement for a managed third-party solution.

Yeah we are ordering a new one for us to use with student ipads. But unfortunately with government we can't just give a CC number and buy it. So we are stuck with it for at least a couple more weeks.

It is unfortunate that Apple's content filter is so restrictive. You will notice the same behavior as a JSS Config Profile in iOS Settings > General > Restrictions > Websites > Limit Adult Content. There is somewhat of a "workaround", however. While it is less than optimal, the filter could be enabled, and then individual sites whitelisted. This could also be restrictive on student research though; not to mention time consuming.
