Question

CS4 install with base image

We have created CS4 package using vendor dmg and we can push the package via Casper remote to a client without any issues, but when we deploy it with the base image to a macbook pro it installs fine and then after the reboots it shows a big padlock in the middle of the screen without any other option. The padlock looks the same as the one shows when you lock a remote system using ARDàinteract menu. Any idea what is going wrong here?

Thats the jamfHelper installing Adobe CS4 as part of firstrun scripts, locking out users so they don't interupt the install. As I understand it the generic padlock image will be replaced in an upcoming release so people actually understand what is going on.

Well this Padlock shows after it restarts, so if I understand correctly, it is installing the CS4 after it restarts the system and eventually it will let me log back in? Because once the padlock in on the screen nothing I could do and in order to manually restart the system I have press the power button..

Yes, that is the way the jamfHelper app runs for Adobe installs. Once
Imaging has finished laying your base image down, and other apps that you
have selected, the system will restart and Casper then begins the
installation of the Adobe software you have selected for that configuration.
Because I have had problems in the past with jamfHelper never stopping
(probably and Adobe issue), I've taken to installing my Adobe products via a
policy using a smart group. So when the machine images it is placed into a
smart group that is inside of a "Post Image" policy that triggers on login. I login as the admin and the Adobe software installs.
