We are trying to get Cylcing '74's Max 6.1.3 to run concurrently on our campus. We have in the past used keyserver but are moving away from keyserver. Has anyone had any experience with using Max concurrently without keyserver? We've tried to package it with composer but it doesnt play nice. Basically the machine needs to phone home and serialize via a browser.
Any insight is greatly appreciated!

We use Max with KeyServer for that reason. If you have the individual license keys it has to be licensed per machine. A composer package won't work. You are correct in that the Mac will need to activate per system via web. We found Cycling '74's pre keyed version the best option especially when allowing students to install via Self Service. Sorry if only confirming what you already know.
Yes we also use Keyserver with Max 5 and 6 without issues. We haven't found another way yet
I wish Unity 3d and Protools would bring out floating licenses to..... such a pain in our labs
