defaults delete

Hi all,

Not sure if this is something localized to my images or if other people who use Apple's VPN connect.

The Menu Item icon sometimes 'sticks'. I click on it, I see all the menus, I release on "Connect VPN" and nothing happens.
The fix is to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Network
Select the VPN on the left side
Un-tick and re-tick the "Show VPN status in menu bar". And then it works! But eventually will fail again at some 'random' time. Only need to do this again at the most inconvenient time like when you need to use it. This causes havoc at my shop and users just conclude the entire VPN is down. Blah blah blah

Although, this is an ok 'fix' for me… but not for my 'kids'.. And fair enough, why should one need to do this? (Again, not sure if this is just me thus putting it out there)

I found the ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.systemuiserver.plist and there are all my menu items.
A quick fix I can think of would be a local script to run at login that will: Delete the string out of the array and write it back using the defaults command.

Anyone good the defaults command?

Thanks in advance!
