DEP On Currently Used Macs

Hello everyone,

We are just starting to roll out our Jamf deployment to the company(~300 Macs), for awhile all new hires have been enrolled but we have a ton of currently in use Macs that are not enrolled. We have DEP hooked up and verified. Is there a way to enroll all of our currently in use Macs once they have been dumped into DEP?

tl;dr Looking for a way to mass enroll a bunch of Macs without disrupting users, ideally using DEP.

Thanks for all of your help.

Sure, DEP will actually notify machines of a Configuration workflow If you enable it to..
The end user is notified with a popup of this

That being said you're better off having two dep workflows, one for new machines and one for existing ones you know about.

Thanks @rderewianko . By chance is there a way to either not skip it or just force the enroll? We suspect the majority of our users will ignore this notification.

Even if they skip it will return... it's very good at nagging !!!

There is not a way to force it... You're better off to force it with something they need

Eg for us it's vpn.. need vpn well you had to have Casper by the end of the month. We then proceeded to rotate the keys. The only way they were able to get back on the vpn was to have their machine managed. We had very few employees complain.

Where is this enabled, exactly? My machines that successfully enroll via DEP during the setup assistant are not getting this prompt after being reformatted and set up offline.

They have to be in the prestage enrollment. (Same enrollment as you'd have for dep machines set with a connection to the network)
