I can't use the existing repository for capturing a new image as it's saying it's full.
Can i setup a network share as the location for the image to be captured in Deploystudio?

If yes how would i go about it?

I don't think DeployStudio can work that way. Its designed to be hard-coded to a single repository.

You could either:

  • Create a new repository and switch the server to use that temporarily. It will be a blank slate with no workflows but would work just to get an image created
  • You could "try" a symlink to another location. So symlink "server/repo/Masters" to another location and see if it works. I wouldn't leave it in that state generally but again it might get around the current situation

As DS is limited to a single Repo, at some point you will need to get it onto larger storage as you won't be able to copy your newly created image into the current location.

You can rerun DeployStudio Assistant and set up your Repository for another different share point. The online documentation gives step-by-step documentation to set up shares & permissions on a Mac Server (the Mac Server images may be outdated, but the concepts still apply). Possibly have 2 DS servers, each looking at the 2 different repos. NetBooting should still see both servers.

I'd also check your current repo for images and see if you can delete some.
