I've attempted to create a distribution share on our Jamf pro server. It is a mac mini running 10.2.1 and 10.13.3. I followed the steps in this KB article: https://www.jamf.com/jamf-nation/articles/325/setting-up-a-file-share-distribution-point.

When I try to connect to via Admin I get a "could not be mounted" error.

When making a share on the same box as the jamf pro, is it recommended to use a separate partition? Or created a folder and share it out? this is what I've done so far....

Thanks

Make sure the share/folder is owned by the account with r/w access. This has caught me a couple times.

Also, make sure the share is not currently mounted on your desktop when connecting to that share through Jamf Admin. That has caught me a few times just like the permissions thing.

I've found I had to go into the sharing pane > select the share > options and then enable share files and folders with SMB.
