Extension Attributes in JSS for Mobile Devices?

This was discussed a new feature in the 9.11 release notes. Can anyone tell me what it is? This seems useful, but is worded vaguely.

Mobile device extension attributes—You can create extension attributes to collect almost any type of data from mobile devices.

This page only seems to be related to computers enrolled in Casper - https://jamfnation.jamfsoftware.com/extensionAttributes.html

    I'm curious as well. I was going to try and pull a custom LDAP attribute.

    FYI you may need to update your User permissions. I thought I was a full admin on 8.71 but it turns out on 9.11 I had custom privileges, and the extended attributes was one of three settings I did not have.
