when creating (running JSS 9.61 on OS X.7)
Create an account that has "Ready only" access to the share.
Create an account that has "Ready & Write" access to the share.
Is it just a matter of going into system preferences and creating 2 standard users and providing them the above access?
I have done this and now both accounts are created, and both accounts are seen in the 'DISPLAY LOGIN WINDOW' -- list of users Is this supposed to be the case ???
these 2 users are not actually used for anything but the file share distribution point and will not be used to login with?

Correct, these two accounts should only be created on the computer that the distribution point is hosted on.
Other clients use these account credentials to access the distribution point share.

I meant to include this link too, say you have your distribution point on a Mac mini you log into for other things, you can hide any account you want from the login screen to make it cleaner, less confusing, etc.

For OS X Servers, we generally set up casperadmin and casperinstall as Sharing Only accounts on the box hosting the Distribution Point. I know...who even uses OS X Servers any more. LOL. No need to hide the accounts, they're server side accounts that are only used to mount the CasperShare. I know...who doesn't use HTTP any more (well, Casper Admin needs AFP/SMB to mount the share so it can upload - heading over to add a Feature Request to lift that requirement now). LOL.

Here ya go:
Please lift AFP/SMB requirement, so Casper Admin can work over HTTP
