Finder favorites vanishing!

Good day everyone! Im having a really odd issue on Mojave where people will set favorites in their finder sidebar and a few days will go by and they vanish, its not hidden or anything the list is empty. Anybody else seeing this or can point me somewhere to look?

I've been seeing this for over a year with High Sierra.

Mostly with server shares. Don't know of a solution.

@gskibum Yeah, looks like its both Mojave and HS at this point. Wish there was something we could do about it!

If this is about Finder Favorites created from SMB sources, I have seen this since all the way back in the big cat days of Mac OSX.

The way we used to get around this issue was to make an alias of the smb folder on the local machine and add that to your side bar. Since the Alias exists on the local Mac it doesn't disappear

Hey @exno that sounds good for users who do that, however in my case things like the OneDrive folder or Home folder just vanish from the favorites bar. Hopefully this will be addressed in a software update....?
