Hello, I'm trying to get institutional recovery key for one of our machines. The user of it has left the company and the machine is in a different physical location. When I find the machine in our JSS and look in the management tab it says that FileVault 2 isn't configured but in Inventory not only is it configured but it says that the institutional key is present. What am I missing?

+16institutional keys should be universal unless you have several FV configurations, grab the institutional key from any other machine (or one using the same FV configuration).
I just had to do this today, somehow the FV2 keys had become detached in the JSS but since I knew it had the institutional I just used that to get into it.
+16Unfortunately you'll have to decrypt and re-encrypt using your configuration. I have no idea what causes them to de-attach from the JSS like this. :/
