At my company we have segmented networks and ports need to be requested to be opened to allow traffic. What does Jamf Remote need to work properly? I'm guessing that it first needs to connect to Jamf Pro, then it can connect to the client. Currently, I'm not able to use Jamf remote to connect to a test mac sitting right next to me with all the necessary requirements for screen sharing enabled.

Jamf Remote uses ssh to broker the connection, so you need to have that enabled with your management account given access to ssh. You do not need Screen Sharing enabled.

Jamf remote is kind of legacy now. I would suggest you avoid using it. Try to use policies and Self Service. If you need IT only functions create a policy available in self service and limit it to your IT accounts in LDAP
