How do you go about creating an image from a newer MacBook's recovery partition? The one JAMF made when we first had JSS installed a year and a half ago has been working fine up until the latest refresh of MacBook Airs. It shows the grey circle with a cross through it.

I tried using Carbon Copy Cloner, but the option is grayed out. I've also tried un-hiding the recovery partition with terminal and then taking an image of it. However, upon deployment, the recovery partition doesn't boot (grey circle with a cross.)

Help?

A better way may be to install the Recovery partition using an installer package:

Latest version of InstaDMG seems to put one in place as well.

+1 to the Create-Recovery-Partition-Installer if you don't use InstaDMG
