how to disable apple intelligence and chatgpt in macOS 15.1 using jamf pro

I haven't had success no :(

I've added a combination of

1) the Rokas profile above

2) a new config profile with restrictions payload (only place restrictions is used) with all AI stuff off

3) AI stuff off in the prestage

... still getting the AI setup window on login

The only way I have been able to disable Apple Intelligence is by applying a restrict Siri app and this completely disables access to AI. I still get prompts for it but cannot configure or use it.

Sorry if this seems obvious, but did you erase the machine and go through setup again after disabling the AI stuff in the prestage enrollment? It only gets those settings at the enrollment during Setup Assistant. I'm pretty sure this is the specific thing that fixed the login issue for me, considering I have actually removed the various restrictions and still don't see the setup pane at login.

I do still see the "Ready for Apple Intelligence" notification once logged in, so that's the next thing I have to suppress... but at least it's not gumming up the entire login & user profile config.

No, we've got 800 machines in JAMF and are in the middle of term I can't just flatten everything at this stage to solve this issue.

OK so as suggested I've just flattened one of our machines and the prompts are now gone, I had also removed the extra file Rokas had provided. So the steps for getting rid of the prompts entirely seem to be:

1) turn it off in prestage

2) deploy a restrictions profile with it turned off

3) flatten computer so it goes back through prestage

It's a farce that things seem to happen in prestage that then permanently affect the machine as that's just supposed to be for skipping setup screens not enduring config? Just another MDM mystery I suppose, I'm pretty fed up with it all at the moment! We will have to flatten everything in Summer hols and put up with it until then.

You can create Config Profiles to restrict Apple Intelligence from appearing when upgrading to 15.0 - 15.1.1 and another Config Profile when upgrading to 15.2 as Apple push this out again when upgrading from 15-15.1.1 to 15.2. 

I created a Smart Group for both 15.0 - 15.1.1 & 15.2. 

I followed this guide and this removed the Apple Intelligence pop-up after upgrading.

what about using this in a CP

I had that (and the checkbox for Disable Apple ID) checked in my login window profile and still saw the AI setup screen. I am pretty confident the Intelligence setup pane in the Prestage is what was triggering it.

However, check out TomRWSmith's comment below. I haven't tested it myself, but it looks like exactly the kind of config profile you would need to use to disable the AI setup without requiring the re-image.

Can confirm that adding this mobileconfig seems to get rid of the AI setup screen even without having flattened the machine, however there is still a 'welcome to mac' screen would be great to get rid of that also
