Imaging errors

Does anyone else get Imaging Errors reported back by the JSS? I get quite a few and I can seem to determine why. It is sporadic. I happens at multiple sites, mostly when trying to image several (up to 10) computers at a time. The error is like this: Installing UTL-Stuffit_11.dmg... Error: The file PRO-MSOffice2004(h).dmg does not exist. Installing UTL-WhatSize_4.2.1.dmg... Error: The file PRO-MSOffice2004(h).dmg does not exist. Installing MM-iMovie HD.dmg... Error: The file PRO-MSOffice2004(h).dmg does not exist. on and on and on. . . .

Even though Office was installed much earlier in the process. And I know the Office2004 package is there and did work on others. Typically the package before the error is the one that failed, and then the packages after that don't deploy. So in this case Stuffit is the one that really failed, and the next packages don't install.

I've tried a lot of things, different Server OS, new servers, clean installs, managed switches, unmanaged switches, checked permissions on the share, . . . . .

Mostly seems to happen when imaging multiple machines from a single distribution point. Do you think the timing is off, too many at once?? Argh.

I can't work on it today, but starting to look into the problem, again. Just curious if I was the only one getting this frequently.

I've used exclusively AFP on Apple servers. Tried OS 10.4.11, 10.5.4, 10.5.5, 10.5.6 and 10.5.7, Always get errors. sometimes that is. Usually, we just end up re-imaging the laptop. Perhaps I need to change an AFP setting? I've used both 100MB and 1GBit switches.

I get them quite frequently, but nothing is ever wrong with the resulting images. I haven't taken the time to thoroughly check out why thy occur, but they're happening to me, too.
