Index function and AAMEE-created packages

You are correct you don't need to index them that's why when use AAMEE
it also provides you with and uninstaller .pkg

Huh! You were right to begin with, by his description, Sean was trying to uninstall using the uninstall he had indexed, not using Adobe's uninstaller.

pkg cannot be indexed for uninstall, only dmg files.

Adobe provide their own uninstaller as a separate pkg. Look inside the Build directory of the application that the AAMEE has created and you should have both pkg files in their. Add the uninstaller into Casper Admin as well as the installer.

I've seen this with a package I built myself, as well. That package has no payload, and just runs a postflight script; no matter how many times I index it, it is not recognized as indexed (not that I care).

Even if the indexing was working properly, you should never try to use that to uninstall any package that runs a script (in general). AAMEE's packages use scripts to run the actual install, as I recall; an index would not include the resulting installed files.

I should also mention that most of the pkg files I index do in fact show up as indexed (as do the OS installers, though I have to use a trick to index those). I still wouldn't trust that index for uninstalling those that run a script, though. It does help when I want to know what's in the package.
