Is there a way for a user to initiate an "Update Inventory" command from the iPad itself?

This isn't something that I'd like for users to be able to do frequently, but in some circumstances it'd be helpful.

Would a policy (Options-Maintenance-Update Inventory) available in self service with frequency of once per day satisfy?

That's a good idea, but I have a daily refresh set in global settings. I'd like something from the user side to initiate it, if they need to.

I didn't think that was possible on iOS devices. We've got a policy like that for our Macs, bu haven't figured out how to to that for iOS. Where would we go to create that?

Has anyone figured out if this is possible? We've been getting requests from our techs to make this an option.

There was a python script floating around that you could run to do on-demand inventory updates. I'm not exactly sure why "once a day" is the shortest frequency available in the settings.
