iOS App Update through Self Service

We have deployed a number of apps through self service via the app store (not in-house). When students go to update the apps they are receiving a 'can't connect to (our) server" message. Any ideas what is going on? They are able to install them from self service just fine. Thanks, in advance, for your help! 8 )
