Help! I have an iPad that I am trying to unlock and it will not respond to the "clear passcode" request that I am sending to it. It will just say that it is pending....for hours upon hours!

Stupid question, but does the iPad have wifi? I've had to reset devices with passcodes that have wifi turned off for whatever reason.

I'd also bet on wifi. Hopefully it is that as the other possibility is that it isn't enrolled properly, in which case you'll be a bit out of luck.

As said if the device doesn't have WiFi it won't work. We tried this and we noticed many that got locked lost the WiFi so ended up re-doing each one!

Well how do you fix WiFi if you can not unlock the device?

You can reset the thing in DFU mode and iTunes.

There's also some kind of unholy way to get it on ethernet if you have the right mix of equipment and adapters, but I've never gotten it to work.

Ethernet connection always works for us reliably.

Ethernet connection works for us as well. All you need is an iPad Camera Connection kit, POWERED usb hub, and a usb to ethernet adapter (Apple one works great).
