Is there a clear advantage to move from LDAP/Active Directory to Azure AD?

Our JAMF Pro Cloud service is connected via LDAP and I’m wondering if there is a clear advantage to make a move and connect to Azure AD through Cloud Identity Providers or just stay with the current setup?

This eve I was trying to see if there was a way to connect AD groups to JAMF groups (Smart Computer or User/Groups) but so far the only connection I still see is to run AD groups as a “Limitation” to each policy which seems like a lot of work over using groups.

I see a lot of talk about it and something many have asked for and chatted about but haven’t seen anything recent.

I was hoping a new connection to Azure AD was the missing link but not sure if there’s a big difference between Azure AD Cloud Identity is worth the move or not.

Anyways hope my question makes sense. I’m still new JAMF Cloud but I’ve had my head buried into it for a bit now setting up for full on move to it. Was just hoping for a change with AD before we go fully live.

Thank you
