Hello fellow Jamfers. The issue I am having today is, we have a lab that runs Final Cut pro, and the only way that I have found to make it work is to have the "force local profile" option enabled within directory utility for our network users. These students have Full Control to their home directories, and if they log in once, everything is fine. However I have seen students that will return to work on a project, and it will tell them that they do not have any permissions to even view their local home directories.
I know I need to do a chown and a chmod to change their rights on login, but I am unsure as to what rights I should give them and how to syntactically make the character wildcard. I am still very new to UNIX.
We are running 10.6.8, with a Windows backbone.
