Warning!
With Jamf Parent, there is currently no way to unlink parent control of a device. There is a way to clear currently pushed settings, but the parent app still has the ability to reset those settings. This becomes a huge issue especially if one student's iPad is taken into Jamf Parent by another student, and now that second student has unvetted and unbreakable access to control the first student's iPad, without any sort of tracking available.
Please +1 this feature request to help resolve this issue.
Thanks

You’re saying it’s per device, not per user? This would complicate repairs a great deal.

You can remove parenting capabilities for a device. Another way of saying it is you can unlink all parent devices from one or more student devices. This is currently available from the Mass Actions interface. Please see the documentation for more info.
We will be adding the capability to remove the parenting capabilities from a single device within the Remote Commands interface in an upcoming version of Jamf Pro.

Hi @KatieE . Is it possible to unlink a parent device from a student iPad from the Jamf Parent app? A parent has added their child's iPad. But for some reason the child's iPad doesn't show up on the mom's Jamf Parent app anymore. Linking it again results in the error message that the iPad is already linked. Unlinking option doesn't show up. Uninstalling and installing the Jamf Parent app didn't help. As an admin, I can't find the option to unlink parent device in our Jamf School.
Any help appreciated.

Is there an update about jamf adding the capability to remove the parenting capabilities from a single device within the Remote Commands interface?
