My district has been using Jamf School for several years now and we love it. It is much better than the MDM we had previously, and made our transition to 1:1 very easy. We are considering an upgrade to JAMF Pro to get access to possibly some more features. I would love to hear some feedback from some who maybe have used or have knowledge of both and get your thoughts on whether we should do the upgrade. What are some of the perks of pro that would make the upgrade worth it. Thanks in advance.

Jamf School vs. Jamf Pro

This is a great question! Our organization uses both. We use Jamf Pro to manage our Apple computers because of the additional features offered in Jamf Pro, but we use Jamf School to manage everything else because it offers all the features we need at a better price point for us.

As the second link mentions, if you aren't sure take Jamf Pro for a test drive and compare to what you are already using in Jamf School. I work in K-12 education and I definetly concur with the second article where it says if you are Mac computer heavy then you might see some benefit to using Jamf Pro. If you are iPad heavy then maybe Jamf School can meet most of your needs. Or you can do like we do and split it between Jamf School and Jamf Pro. There's plenty of options out there for you to take advantage of.

Thanks for the reply. Yes we use JAMF School, but were trying to decide if a move to JAMF Pro would be beneficial. This was very helpful. We are ipads K-8 and Laptops 9-12. Teachers are using HP Laptops, so we have a minimal amount of Macbooks. Thank you and I will check out the links. Have a good day!

Sonia, thanks for the response. In your experience, do you think the upgrade was worth the price difference to get the additional scripting and features? We are just trying to decide. We may have to try a trial and see what we think. Just trying to get feedback from people that have used both.
