...no wonder Apple loathes Java (and Flash).

We are deploying a 3rd-Party-App that requires Java. We decided to kill two birds with one stone and push Java 1.6.0_41 first, then the 3rd-Party-App afterwards.

Success is about 80%...but 20% show this error in the JSS policy log:

/usr/sbin/jamf is version 8.62 Executing Policy 01-Install-Java-And-3rd-Party-App... Mounting afp://xx.xx.xx.xx/CasperShare to /Volumes/CasperShare... Copying Apple-Java-1.6.0_41.mpkg... Installing Apple-Java-1.6.0_41.mpkg... Installation failed. The installer reported: installer: Cannot install on volume / because it is disabled. installer: Copying 3rd-Party-App.mpkg... Installing 3rd-Party-App.mpkg... Successfully installed 3rd-Party-App.mpkg. Unmounting file server... Running Recon...

These Macs that show the error have 1.6.0_37 installed...is OS X shutting down Java and preventing us from pushing the sanctioned 1.6.0_41 version on top of it?

Thanks,
Don
