Java version reporting as 15.0.1 - What is this?

I have an extension attribute which does the following:

defaults read /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/JavaAppletPlugin.plugin/Contents/Info CFBundleShortVersionString

We have several machines which are reporting Java Version 15.0.1. These machines don't appear to actually have Java installed. Can anyone tell me what this is?

    I think this is "JavaInstallOnDemand: 15.0.1" corresponds to Java for OS X but I am not sure exactly if is "Java for OS X 2015-001" or "Java for macOS 2017-001"
