JSS Mobile Broken?

JSS Mobile? You mean the iOS app? If I'm not mistaken that app hasn't been updated in a few years. Its almost a miracle it evens connects to your JSS.
Yeah, I'd say its broken, and has been now for a while. I'm sad JAMF has abandoned this little gem. it was an awesome tool, (and made for an excellent demo of the Casper Suite I might add)
If I'm not mistaken there's a Feature Request to bring it back to life. I'd love to see it get updated and revamped.

Yes JSS Mobile is the iOS app. Saw the feature request, voted up, but seemed less a feature request here than ensuring a published app is still working. This does not. There was actually an update that appeared to be posted last week, but then pulled back within hours of going live so perhaps there is hope after all. Agreed that was one of the really big ah-ha features I saw a few years back that made me consider digging deeper into the Casper framework.

I would love to see this app updated and usable with V9...

I know it doesn't answer this directly, and I don't personally have any info to share regarding the future of JSS Mobile, but...
• Version 9's web app is responsive, resizing/reconfiguring controls depending on screen size
• You need a network connection to interact with your JSS

In light of this, what makes an app desirable? This is an honest question, not naysaying.

No real expectations of JSS Mobile being updated Miles, but still prefer it to the responsiveness of v9, which has tabs wrapping off screen, over-sized menbuar icons, and generally just feel clunky and mismatched to the iPhone screen. JSS Mobile (by its nature) was built with the smaller screen in mind and I actually prefer the icon-based UI as a faster alternative to the traditional, web-based management console. I can get in, see exactly what actions a policy is using, and add/remove items quickly, which is generally what I need when I am accessing Casper on the go. Plus it caches your user credentials.
