You may have to rebuild your netboot set. We attempted to use the NetSUS by JAMF and realized it's not going to work in our environment. Only one NBI can be uploaded to the server and a heck of a time getting it to broadcast over different vlans.(never got it working) When I was testing with a vm on my workstation I saw a kernel panic and had to rebuild my NBI using AutoDMG and AutoCasperNBI
@CapU
I rebuilt my NBI with AutoDMG and AutoCapserNBI and got another Kernel Panic. What are you using instead of JAMF NetSUS?
@rmiltenb What version of the appliance are you running?
@bentoms At the time of the creation of the discussion was 4.0 and after upgrading to 4.1, I got the same results.
@rmiltenb thanks.
I'm struggling to recreate.
Can you post the contents of ~/Library/Preferences/com.macmule.AutoCasperNBI.plist found under the account that created the NBI?
There might be some stuff you want to redact (passwords etc).

Seeing the exact same error message. Using DS for NBI. Boots normally on Mac Server.
Same behavior with a 10.10 NBI
We seeing the same thing. AutoCasperNBI 10.11.6, JSS 9.91, NetSus 4.1.0.
Was there ever a resolution for this?
I cannot recreate the issue.
I've deployed, Erm.. Around 10 NBI's of 10.11.6 this month to various NetSUS server versions & not had an issue at all.
@lisamcray are you also creating a restorable DMG?
Yes. We are creating a restorable DMG. Basically we are using the same NBI that we are using to create boot media, except checking the option "Will be served from NetSuS or BSDPy"

@lisamcray Ok, can you send a screenshot of the NBI Folders contents & post the NBImageInfo.plist?
Here's the plist contents:

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Ah. Got it.
@lisamcray remove the NetBoot.restroable.dmg from the NBI folder. Then try to NetBoot.
@jomccann & @rmiltenb ^^ do you folks have both DMG's in the NBI folder too?
If so, please remove the NetBoot.restroable.dmg from the NBI folder, then try to NetBoot.
Thank you! I will try that first thing in morning, and report back with a status.
That did the trick!
I deleted the NetBoot.restorable.dmg from the NBI folder and my test machine did a successful NetBoot.
Thanks again for your help!
Hi all,
Please test this pre-release of AutoCasperNBI
I have restructured the folders that AutoCasperNBI puts items into, to avoid this issue in the future:

The restorable.dmg should only be for removable media.
@bentoms - Having this issue as well. macOS 10.12.4 nbi and macOS 10.12.3 nbi, using AutoDMG and AutoCasperNBI, Casper Imaging 9.98, BSDPy installed on Centos7 (Linux. Checking "Will be server from NetSUS or BSDPy". No changes in Options. Linux single host run mode. Tested TFTP and mounting /nbi successfully.
