Anxious to see how everyone is handling imaging for Lion...particularly the Restore HD partition. :)

fyi, in some testing for fun, I just made a base os image, used composer etc. then added it to my current process and it just worked, you don't have to deploy a recovery image when using ASR to install it.

that being said, it will be good to learn how to setup and use the recovery image properly.

I just love this statement under "Deploying OS X Lion":

Administrators can also use the System Image Utility included in OS X Lion
Server to create a NetInstall or NetRestore image.

Yep, there's the answer, you'll need Lion Server to create your SIU images
and most likely to host them too.

That's magic to my ears. :) Guess I'll be building a Lion Server box for our LAB so we can start working on imaging.

You will need the recovery partition if you plan on using FileVault 2.
