Also What about monitors ad Thunderbolt screens are discontinued. Of course apple now sell LG but they are very expensive ( at least something my Company Will not pay that ammount)
+16As an organisation there's no a single product that we recommend, but one of our Colleges regularly buys these Belkin docks for its Mac users.
+11We picked Dell docking stations because they have 2 of the same monitor ports for dual monitors (save the cost of adding dongles) and it supplies enough power to charge the 15" MBP. They are dependent on the display link drivers which seem to go belly up on macOS 10.x.0 releases. The current one is working in 10.14.2 and had some challenges with 10.13.6. The Dell dock also works with some chromebooks we have here and the bean counters liked only getting 1 solution for the various machines.
On slack, there is an appledockingstation channel where people contribute to a spreadsheet with docking station choices.

I have always thought if Apple was serious about supporting Enterprises, it would make a Docking station that survives macOS upgrades.
+27I think that the best thing about Apple going full USB-C is that you don't need an "Apple" solution. We use the OWC Thunderbolt 3 dock (Now supporting 85-watt charging) and Dell displays.
+8May I ask which dell monitors you buy ?. Designers are really demanding in my house, so both size and colur sharpness is important
