I received a Sonnet RackMac mini last week. I only have one Mac mini (Late 2012) installed in it currently. The descriptions and features on their website are accurate. The front power button works every time.

This was recently on the MacEnterprise List.
Here's my response to it http://lists.psu.edu/cgi-bin/wa?A2=ind1304&L=MACENTERPRISE&P=R59243&I=-3&d=No+Match%3BMatch%3BMatche...

I just purchased 4 of the Sonnet RackMac mini for some new servers we have. I really like them, the design and layout is nice, I just only wish they had 4 mini server version. I like how you can see if the computer is running properly and the power button works great if/when the box locks up. They do need to update the front facing USB to better support USB 3.0 drives (I can not hook up rugged Lacie drives to them, but most flash drives do work).

We use the Sonnet RackMac mini globally. I have them in 6 or 7 locations at this point as DP/SUS/Netboot Servers.

anyone using Sonnet's xmac mini server?

I'm tempted 'cause I'd love to put a FC card on my server mini's, but I'm worried about reliability .

The Sonnet ones are the go to choice for 1 or 2 in 1U. It's a bit of a pain to take apart if you need to add another Mini (no way to do it without taking the whole thing apart, sliding rail option would be nice) but it works.

I have used the Rackmac and the xMac mini server. The server rack I was less enamored with. The lightening cable they supplied was a complete bust on my first unit. The LED is not that bright but that is a minor detail. The rail system is a bit hincky and not a strong recommend. My biggest complaint about the Rackmac was that it was hard to get to connectors and cables when mounted with other equipment..
