Macbook not checking in but getting updated Configuration Profile settings

Need some advice. I have a remote Macbook Pro that is not checking into Jamf, but is getting the new Configuration Profile settings pushed onto it. The user is reporting that the computer is online and accessing the Internet. What can be wrong?

Most likely device signature error. Try Re enrolling with a quickadd pkg.

I had the user, open Terminal and run:
sudo jamf policy
sudo jamf recon

And now it seems to be checking in normally.
