MacOS Sequioa

Hi Community,

We've had restrictions in place on installing Sequoia, and the restriction period is now coming to an end. Since we've had limited opportunities for testing, we would greatly appreciate any feedback from those using the new macOS in their environment.

We have not noticed any significant issues with macOS 15.1 in our environment. There are some firewall issues with 15.0 but they are fixed with 15.1. However, no one else's environment testing will equate your own testing of your own environment.

I have the same experience as AJPinto. 15.1 is working network and firewall wise after 15.0 had issues.

I use macOS Sequoia since 15.0. In the beginning I noticed some miner issues. Since 15.1 it works the same like with Sonoma.

1/4 of my fleet is on 15.0.1+ and no major issues with our stack - O365, Defender, Cisco Secure Client, etc. You'll have more issues if you're greater than N-1 versions out of date on anything that installs at a 'system' level.

No major issues outside of annoying notifications which can be silenced. Seems smooth so far.

Check the Apple Intelligence Part, if you don't want to enable the same ensure you disable it.

We have the Jamf settings to disable it but it still pops up and can be enabled by any user.

If you're unsure about your testing, you can extend the update deferral from 60 to 90 days.

It was all good in the hood, until ...... "Local Nertwork". If your using Chrome and you can't reach a resource. Such as a printer, camera & etc etc. Then you're good, however if you do & they are not resolving. Check & verify that you have Privacy & Security --> Local Networks & enable Chrome. After that you can resolve & reliable hit your local resources.

+ Gracias

We've seen about 10 cases where Chrome does not work after the update to 15.1. I think it might be related to the macOS Firewall, but we have that enabled and greyed out, so students cannot turn it off. The only fix so far has been to wipe and reinstall.
