Mapping a network drive

My configuration policy is failing. When I log in I get "There was a problem connecting to the server".

This is my policy:
Configuration Profile

General
Distribution method = Install Automatically
Level = Computer level

Login Items
Network mounts = smb://server/share$

The drive does map if I use "Connect to Server" on the computer.

Any idea why this is failing?

Is your machine connecting via wi-fi or ethernet? If wi-fi it could be trying to mount the drive before a wireless connection is established?

It is connecting via wi-fi. Is there a way to delay mounting the drive until the wi-fi connection is established?

Can you connect via ethernet to test first, to confirm this is the issue?

I've tried profiles a few times to mount network drives. Its buggy at best.

I would recommend either adding a .webloc file to the users dock or a script to map the drives.

+1 to don't use profiles, use a script. There are several of them on this site or on @bentoms' http://www.macmule.com site. Find one that meets your needs, and use it...

Hi All, I'm very new to MAC and we bought a jamf pro cloud license for our school. Currently not using LDAP as this is on cloud based and in near future I will be implementing Jamf Infrastructure Manager on DMZ to sync our on premise AD through JIM. Devices are already enrolled in JAMF and Bound to AD as well. I would like to mount our network AD student home drives to the devices when student log in. I have tried to map these using configuration policies. However, it seems to be nothing is mapping at the moment. would anyone be able guide me with how to set this up ? Thanks in advance.
