Microsoft Defender vs Nothing on IOS

Just recently took over as MDM admin for Jamf Pro and we have no endpoint security on our IOS devices. I think it's too late in the year to get purchase approval for Jamf Protect. We have an M365 license right now and deploy the O365 mobiles apps to our IOS devices. We have zero Intune integration with mobiles right now.

Question is can I deploy the Defender app in its default state and at least get some endpoint protection vs what we have now (ie nothing)?

Will it even do anything if it doesn't have integration with a MSFT based central management system?

Thanks

Rob

JAMF Protect is a macOS Product, there is no iOS Component.

Windows Defender on iOS is not really End Point Security. It's a glorified VPN client, and "online identity" security. The major selling features of Windows Defender on iOS is Link scanning, a credit card keeper and giving you your advantage credit score. What are you looking to accomplish with Windows Defender?

As far as the capabilities of Windows Defender in a world without Intune, I would suggest running that by Microsoft in your next tub or asking in the Windows Intune Community. Microsoft Intune - Microsoft Community Hub

There appears to be a Jamf Protect for mobile page here:

I just want some kind of endpoint security in place against things like malware or other malicious activity. If Protect is not for mobiles and Defender doesn't offer that, what are people using to protect their IOS devices, just keep the IOS version up to date?
