Indeed, the requirements haven't changed in quite some time:
You can host the JSS on any server that meets the following requirements: - Java 1.7 or Java 1.8 (Java 1.8 is recommended) - MySQL 5.5.x or 5.6.x (MySQL 5.6.x is recommended) - Apache Tomcat 7 or 8 (Tomcat 8 is recommended)
Be aware, if you're tempted to try MySQL v5.7.x, that it will probably work with Casper 9.x, but I'd only suggest it for a new Casper installation.
If you're upgrading an existing Casper installation from MySQL v5.6.x to v5.7.x., you may encounter some issues.
