Hi everyone,
i have the following problem, maybe anyone of you can help me or point me into any direction.

I have an HP Server with ESXi installed, a Virtual Machine (CentOS 7) and installed the NetSUS Installer. So far so good, i uploaded an NBI and tried to boot from the image. At first it looks good but the boot does not finish.

Then i used an iMac as ESXi Host, used the same NBI Folder and booting works.
Used a standard PC with CentOS and the same NBI and booting works.

I would still prefer to be able to use the HP Server, because it does have more power and ressources.

Any Ideas ? Any setting inside CentOS or VMWare i have to consider ?

We are having similar issues with CentOS on VMWare and also the .ova appliance on VMWare - did you find out what was causing your problems?

Hi Chris,

Could you expand on "At first it looks good but the boot does not finish"

For example:
1) Do you get the big globe change to the small one?
2) Do you get a desktop?
3) What are the permissions in the folder where the NBI image is located?
3) Is there any chance the two machines are treated differently by the network e.g. are we just talking about within 1 subnet for servers and clients or are you going across subnets or through a firewall.

It can work - we have NetSUS 3 running on a RedHat VM. Which version of the NetSUS is this?

Regards,

David
