Packaging Final Cut Studio 2

Has anyone been able to successfully package the Audio Content from FCS2? I am trying to save the package to a different partition (due to size) and Composer errors out.

Thanks

Do you have any antivirus software installed? We have to disable our
Symantec software before making any large packages.

Hey Am,

Due to the way that Composer creates packages, it will still use some space on the boot volume temporarily to create a package, even if you specify that you want it to save to a different partition. My guess is that there is not enough space to initially create the disk image, so hdiutil is erring out, which causes Composer to err out.

Another way to create the package would be to copy Composer's 'Temp' directory to a machine that does have enough space to build the package, then launch Composer on that machine next to the 'Temp' directory, go into the 'Prebuilt' tab, and build your package from there.

I would advise using a clean OS image that has no software, including AV software (particularly Symantec *shudder*), when building packages. That is of course unless the package has a dependency on another application to install other components for it, like Office toolbars, Photoshop plug-ins, etc.

Thanks Nick, moving the temp file to the other partition worked.

I'm about to package Final Cut Studio 2 and wanted to see if anyone has
attempted this and have any interesting pointers to share as they built this
package. I had previously used Netrestore Helper to create an image of a
system that had Final Cut and noticed serial number was lost when I
re-imaged another machine. Will I run across this using Composer? Also, does
anyone know of a way of disabling the recurring registration notification?
I'm behind a firewall and registration fails.

Thanx in advance,

Cyrus

I believe this product binds to hardware unless you purchase bulk licensing which then gets you a non-bound version.

The same goes for Logic Studio.
