I have this issue: Some of my users are connecting to their home directories, which are on Windows machines, using the Connect To Server dialogue box in the Go menu of the Finder. In some cases, they're not connecting directly to their directory, but to the root of the share. Even though they authenticate as themselves, and are not admins, they have read/write permissions on all the directories in the share. The Windows admin keeps blaming the permissions problem on me, but I don't see how that's possible as the users are authenticating to the Windows side and permissions are being applied from the server... Or have I gone mad? I mean... Isn't that how a server/client architecture works? Clients aren't supposed to be able to assign their own permissions...
