Do you know if there is a way to not allow photo booth on iPads? We have a set of 30 iPads here at school that we want to disable photo booth on the iPads so students cannot use that app. Any Suggestions?

Hey dbartlow!

Go ahead and go to JSS>Management>Mobile Device Profiles and then uncheck the box to allow use of the camera, then scope and deploy!

Will this also disable the camera app that is also installed on the iPads? We do want this one(camera) enabled but photobooth disabled.

Sadly yes, it will disable any camera services, including the regular camera, PhotoBooth and I think FaceTime as well.
That option disables the entire background camera service that all of those apps use, so you can't pick and choose.

This is not a JAMF issue, its how Apple designed the iOS API, so if you'd like to see that changed, you'll need to put in a request with Apple.

That is what I thought. My supervisor asked that photobooth be disabled on the iPads. After looking into the forums (both Apple and the JAMF), I did not see any solutions to this but I thought I would see if anyone had any suggestions
