Printer configuration

Hi Team,

we are from Capgemini we want solution on printer configuration (we use secure printer which works on swipe based) is there any way we can configure through Jamf ?

Jamf Pro certainly can issue printers and print settings, but can you be more specific on what features or settings you're looking for?

In general, yes. There might be a few edge cases where a specific model or pull printing solution has an issue, but that tends to be more a Mac compatibility issue rather than Jamf.

For what it's worth, we normally deploy the driver / software pkg, and then use an lpadmin command to map the printer. We have had mixed results using the built-in Jamf printer capture feature.

We also use a print release system and pretty much deploy in the way davidacland describes above. Push out a package with the relevant driver then script the printer install, our script can be found here.
