Hi-

I made printer installations self-serviceable and it looks all well and good, but it's taking FOREVER to install a printer...I've tried it on 3 machines and I finally give up after 10 minutes. I figure I must be doing something wrong...

Some additional information...

It turns out that if I force quit Self Service, the PPD shows up in /private/etc/cups/ppd. It wouldn't show up before doing the force quit. The printer never maps. However, I am able to successfully deploy the printer via Casper Remote. Are printers just not meant to deploy with Self Service?

Thanks
j

I have all my printers available in self service, about 12 or 13 of them. Never had any issues, except with appletalk printers being installed on tiger machines, that would get a little wacky sometimes. Now I'm all IP printing and everything works great.
